wet/dry end process

WET-END APPLICATIONS (Inside the Paper Sheet)

Intro:
The wet-end represents the stage where pulp fibers are consolidated into a continuous paper web. Everest starch solutions applied at this stage facilitate control over fiber bonding, filler retention, internal sizing, sheet formation, and strength development. These solutions ensure a robust, uniform, and stable paper structure prior to the drying process. Our range of wet-end starches provides manufacturers with enhanced control over the paper-making process. It contributes to improvements in formation, drainage, retention, and paper strength, while enabling an increase in the recycled fiber content within the final sheet, without compromising quality.

Evercat

Role:
Positively charged starch that bonds strongly with negatively charged fibers and fillers. It improves fiber-to-fiber bonding, increases filler retention, improves sheet formation, and builds dry and wet strength while supporting internal sizing.
Area of Use: White paper, printing paper, recycled paper, packaging paper, linerboard, corrugating medium.

Everoxi

Role:
Provides better penetration and bonding inside the sheet, improves internal strength, stiffness, and surface integrity during sheet formation. Supports stable sheet formation at high machine speeds.
Area of Use: Coated base paper, glossy paper base, carton board, packaging papers.

EverSpray

Role:
Applied uncooked onto the wet paper web post-headbox, it enhances internal bond strength, improves ply bonding in thicker boards, and aids in maintaining machine speed, particularly when wet-end conductivity is elevated. Our spray-applied starches improve the strength characteristics of both paper and board. These cost-effective solutions augment internal and ply bonds while ensuring optimal distribution within the stock and preventing any reduction in paper machine performance, including speed.

Area of Use: Duplex boards, carton boards, packaging papers, printing and writing papers.

DRY-END APPLICATIONS (Surface Sizing & Coating)

Intro:
The dry-end is where the paper surface is strengthened, sealed, and finished. Everest starch solutions used here improve surface strength, printability, gloss, smoothness, and water resistance through surface sizing and coating, giving the paper its final performance and appearance. Our starch solutions for surface sizing increase water resistance and enhance the printability of paper.

Role:
Provides excellent surface bonding, improves ink hold-out, increases print sharpness, and binds coating pigments strongly to the paper surface.
Area of Use: White paper, printing paper, coated paper, glossy paper, packaging paper.

Everoxi

Role:
Improves surface strength, stiffness, smoothness, and water resistance. Enhances coating adhesion and prevents dusting, cracking, and surface picking.
Area of Use: Glossy papers, coated papers, high-quality packaging boards, laminated sheets.

Everdex Y

Role:
Provides flexibility, adhesion, and bonding in surface sizing and coatings. Helps the paper surface withstand folding, creasing, and printing stresses.
Area of Use: Packaging papers, folding carton boards, printed packaging, glossy packaging paper.

Everdex W

Role:
Adds stiffness, smoothness, and heat stability to the paper surface. Improves dimensional stability and clean surface finish for printing and converting.
Area of Use: White papers, printing papers, glossy papers, coated boards.
