Biodegradable Plastics

Everest starches are used as the primary renewable polymer in biodegradable and compostable plastics. Our native and modified starches enable manufacturers to produce high-performance bioplastics that are eco-friendly, food-safe, and suitable for films, molded ware, and rigid packaging.

Native Starches – Maize, Tapioca & Potato

Role:
Act as the main polymer in thermoplastic starch (TPS). When heated with plasticizers, these starches gelatinize and form a continuous biodegradable plastic structure that can be extruded, molded, or film-cast. Tapioca gives flexibility, potato improves water binding, and maize provides strength.
Area of Use: Compostable carry bags, biodegradable films, molded plates, cups, cutlery, food packaging, agricultural mulch films.

Everoxi

Role:
Provides strong, flexible and clear film-forming properties. Improves tensile strength, surface smoothness, and moisture resistance of starch-based bioplastics while reducing brittleness during processing.
Area of Use: Bioplastic films, coated compostable papers, biodegradable laminates, rigid bio-packaging.

Everdex Y

Role:
Acts as a biodegradable binder that improves adhesion between starch, natural fibers, and fillers, increasing strength and integrity of molded bioplastic products.
Area of Use: Molded fiberware, biodegradable trays, paper-starch composites, compostable packaging boards.

Everdex W

Role:
Provides clean film formation, stiffness, and dimensional stability while maintaining light color and smooth surface finish in bioplastic articles.
Area of Use: White compostable plates, bio-cups, rigid biodegradable packaging, coated boards.

Evercoat

Role:
Create water-resistant, oil-resistant and non-stick biodegradable coatings that replace plastic laminations while remaining fully compostable.
Area of Use: Compostable food packaging, biodegradable trays, coated paper bioplastics, eco-friendly laminates.
